EFI Global expands forensic capabilities in western Canada

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 12, 2024 – EFI Global, a leading, full-service international consulting firm specializing in forensic engineering, environmental, fire investigation and specialty consulting services, welcomed three new members to its forensic engineering and fire investigation team in western Canada: Andre Feiferis, MSc., Mechanical and Materials Engineer; Rod Lowet, CFEI, CCFI, Fire Investigator; and Abi Vijayan, B.Sc., CFEI, CFAA, Senior Electrical Consultant and Fire Investigator.

Feiferis joined EFI Global earlier in 2024 and has broad experience in design, failure analysis and valuation of complex mechanical systems. He has served the insurance industry throughout the Americas and is registered internationally as a professional engineer. Feiferis has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in materials and chemical engineering, providing the foundation of his broad technical expertise. His experience spans failure analysis of building mechanical systems to large losses in mining, heavy industry, equipment and machinery.  

Lowet has over 15 years of experience in fire investigations and fire suppression, along with a background in fighting wildfires. He has served the public as a fire investigator, fire inspector, city and industrial firefighter, hazardous materials technician, confined space technician, emergency medical responder, paramedic, educator and an initial attack crew boss for the British Columbia Ministry of Forests. This experience is complemented by his bachelor of science studies at University of Northern British Columbia – North. Lowet’s background and diverse skill sets are reflected in the strength of his investigations and communications.

Vijayan is a senior electrical professional with over 18 years of experience in electrical system design and failure analysis.  His expertise ranges from building electrical systems in commercial and industrial applications to large international solar farm design. Vijayan is also a certified fire alarm inspector, having conducted over 500 alarm and safety inspections in condominiums, high-rise buildings, schools and manufacturing facilities.
